The day George came to town
Everyone...... George
Calombaris was in KL!!!!
That is a very good
news to all those "MasterChef nerds".I should rate myself only Level
3 nerd of MasterChef nerdies. hahahha like those even exist in the first place.
Anyway,
on last Sunday, Lifetime Asia have organized "George Calombaris Asia
Tour" at Midvalley. This session was special because this was the only
time we get to see George cooking !!! In MasterChef Australia he is the judge
so he was not required to cook. George have presented to us how he do his
signature dish with an Asian twist, namely Poached Chicken with Miso Hummus and
Green Mango Salad. I was starstruck and dumbfounded since he completed the
cooking within less than 30 minutes which make I did not get the recipe fully.
D@mmmnnn ... now I have to search high and low for it.

So
now, MasterChef Australia returns with Season 6 with 24 amateur cooks that cook
almost at the professional level. As what George have related to us earlier,
the competition have become better and now at Season 6, even at the preliminary
rounds, he could not find the dish as bad as in the preliminary round of Season
1. Obviously the level of the contestants have increased tremendously over the
seasons.
Something BIG have been done to this season, firstly there is a
regular guest mentor, chef Kylie Kwong, who will be guiding the amateurs
through testing times. There will also be a new immunity, the “Power Apron”, so
the wearer will have super power to be used in their cooking. Hahaha just
kidding…. Actually they will get advantage and control across a series of
challenges. The Immunity Challenges are now expanded to have an initial round between
three contestants before the winner moves on to cook for immunity against a
professional chef. Another BIG thing with MasterChef Australia Season 6 is now
they are having 1.65million viewers in Australia, which is the biggest number
of viewers!! That still not included us in Malaysia ;)
Lastly, the BIGGEST
thing is their prizes… $250,000 cash (that will be RM700,000 plus…fuhhhhhh a
lot of money…), a Hardie Grant cookbook publishing deal, work experience in
some of Australia’s best kitchens and an Alfa Romeo Giulietta. Perrghhhh …. Who
will be the lucky winner among these 24 contestants ???
Lets follow this fierce
rivalry every weeknights at 7pm and 11pm on Lifetime (Astro Ch 709).
Who do you think will win
those amazing prizes?
